Math Help in Columbus, OH

Going back to school after a precious and well-deserved summer vacation is annoying (for your children and -let’s face it- for you, too). This happens because we let go of those responsibilities during this time, and getting back to them can be very challenging!

This is why, The Tutoring Center in Columbus has this post with a few tips on what you can do so you both have an easier time going back to school.

How to Get Back into a Routine after Summer Break

Do It Gradually

The first thing to keep in mind is that you need to do this slowly. Simply throwing yourself and your child back into it, hoping you’ll get the swing of things, won’t be effective. Go little by little!

Set a Schedule (and Stick to It!)

It’s easier to stay organized and get back into a routine, if you set a schedule for you and your child. This way, you’ll have time to do your chores, play and start the new school year right!

Reset Sleep and Wake Up Times

The most difficult part of it all! You need to engage him/her in activities that will get him/her tired and sleepy at an earlier hour, so s/he can rearrange his/her bedtime.

Re-Arrange the Eating Habits

Over the summer, your child changes his/her eating schedule, along with his/her whole routine. Make sure to ease him/her back into it to avoid any stomach-aches.

Study

Encourage your child to reread notes or to take summer tutoring, to refresh his/her knowledge and so s/he is academically ready take on the challenges of the new school year.

Get Everything Ready

Have everything prepared to make a smoother transition into the “back to school” routine. This means: buying supplies, cleaning the clothing and arranging the lunches beforehand.

Powerful Breakfast

One of the most important things to make sure your child is ready to go back to school again is by providing a protein-filled breakfast that will help with his/her abilities and energy.

Keep it Up

These tips are great to start strong, but you should also do your best to keep up with this new routine! This way, you both will be a lot more efficient throughout the school year.
